We are happy to be in our fourth year of operation. This is a special year for us at this will be our first class to go through our entire four year program. It is exciting to see our students work hard, play hard and learn in the process.
We encourage all of our students to take a rigorous curriculum during their career at White Cone High School. We want our students to challenge themselves and rise above the normal expectations placed on them by their teachers, peers, and parents. At the present time, classes are small and are great opportunity for teachers to work with individuals and small groups to increase academic progress.
Along with all of the core subjects; Science, Math, English, and Social Studies, we offer dynamic and exciting music classes, industrial arts, computer technology and art programs. We also conduct many after school programs that allow our students the opportunity to grow academically, socially and physically.
We have accepted as a full member into the Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) and are participants of the 1a North Athletic Region. We are also a member of the North Central Accreditation (NCA). Being a member of NCA allows our student’s access to colleges and universities after their graduation is completed.
As a public school system, it is our responsibility to meet our student’s needs academically, socially and traditionally. Each year we hold events and activities that represent true Native American culture. We plan and conduct pow wows, song and dance and rodeos involving our students, their parents and community members.
It is an exciting time here at WCHS, plus it’s a great place to teach and learn.
Sincerely,
Darrel T. Brinkerhoff |
